Many 3 star hotels in Edinburgh now only accept 2 nights minimum stay over the weekend. There are lots of great deals during the week out of high season for many of the city centre hotels but during the busy periods and for weekends, early booking is essential if you want to avoid the bad rooms. Many 3 star hotels also have busy bars which means that a lot of bottles get thrown out during the night: if your room is facing the back of the hotel.. be aware of it!
