Drumnadrochit

Drumnadrochit a small village on the shores of Loch Ness is famous for the Loch Ness Monster. It lies on the northern part of Loch Ness and 14 miles from Inverness. Drumnadrochit is a pretty village it is also known as ‘Drum’ by the locals. The major Visitor Attraction here is The 5 Star Loch Ness Exhibition Centre (Formerly Loch Ness 2000).

The Loch Ness Exhibition, established in 1980 as the first ever Exhibition based on the subject of Loch Ness gives visitors the chance to learn about the famous mystery. It is an excellent Interpretation Centre that shares the speical things about Loch Ness that you can't see by looking at it and provides fascinating information on the wider significance of The Worlds most famous body of fresh water. Graded as a 5 Star Visitor Attraction by VisitScotland.com (The National Tourist Board) it is well worth a stop. You will see the signs as soon as you enter the village of Drumnadrochit from Inverness on the A82. However, if you are entering from the other side through the village of Drumnadrochit make sure that you turn right over the Bridge and look for the Old Baronial Building that now houses the Loch Ness Centre.

Population

Drumnadrochit in first sight might look a less populated and alien village but it has a population of around four thousand people. It got commercialized slowly as it gained popularity and more tourist attendance
