River Tay
River Tay in Scotland
The tay runs from the base of Loch Tay to the sea over a relatively short distance of 40 miles to Dundee passing Aberfeldy and the city of Perth on the way.
Although short, more water flows through the river and its tributaries than any other river in Britain. In effect much of the central Highland mountains empty through this river system. The system includes the rivers Garry that passes Pitlochry, the Ericht that passes Blairgowrie and the River Lyon that flows down Glen Lyon which may be the most beautiful glen in Scotland.
