The A9 Road
The A9 is the main road North to Inverness.
The road is a combination of dual carriageway and single lane and starts from Dunblane, north of Stirling.
Some of the Highland sections north of Pitlochry are very dramatic, especially Drumochter Pass which is closed if there is very bad weather as it tends to drift with snow.
