Day OneDeparting from Edinburgh we make our way to lonely Rannoch Moor and into Glen Coe, Scotland’s most famous glen and the scene of the terrible massacre in 1692. We will make a stop in the midst of this awe-inspiring scenery where you can enjoy the magic of this special place. From Fort William the striking scenery of the Great Glen unfolds ahead of us – first Loch Lochy, then Loch Oich and finally Loch Ness. We will travel to the attractive village of Fort Augustus then drive the entire length of Loch Ness. We will stop at Urquhart Castle where you can visit the castle and enjoy a cruise on the loch. Shortly we will arrive in Inverness, our home for the next two nights. The stay in Inverness is unescorted.Day twoToday we enjoy the highlight of our tour - a full day excursion to the beautiful island of Skye. We’ll make a photo-stop at Eilean Donan Castle, perched on its island at the head of Loch Duich. You will marvel at the views when we stop at this most picturesque of castles. Soon we'll be crossing 'over the sea to Skye' and visiting the beautiful gardens of the Clan Donald Centre before enjoying the dramatic scenery of the famed Cuillin Mountains. Later we will have time for some beach combing before returning to Inverness.Day ThreeThis morning there is an excursion to nearby Culloden Moor where Bonnie Prince Charlie's dreams came to a bloody end. Later there is free time in Inverness for individual sightseeing or shopping before we join our motorcoach for a spectacular drive through the Highlands. From the Spey Valley and the Cairngorm Mountains we travel through Glen Garry to the pretty Victorian resort of Pitlochry. After a break we'll make our way through the gentle rolling countryside towards Perth then onwards to Edinburgh. InclusionsThe tour price includes two nights accommodation in rooms with private facilities; full Scottish breakfast; full day excursion to the Isle of Skye; excursion to Culloden; Transportation by air-conditioned luxury touring coach; services of a tour host; service charges and taxes.AccommodationAccommodation is included in the price of the tour. Clients can select between conveniently located quality guest house accommodation and a superior tourist class hotel in the centre of Inverness. All rooms have en-suite facilities and other amenities. Full Scottish breakfast is included. The hotel is the Royal Highland Hotel (or similar).
